"Celebrating local & organic food all year long"

Check out Garden Party's website!  You can also order a Suprise Bag to pick up at the Uptown Waterloo Market, in Waterloo Square, Thursdays - 3:00 - 7:00 pm.

Victoria Day Long Weekend Supporting my Local Peeps :)

What a fun weekend that was!!!  I hope you got out and enjoyed the weekend even if the weather was unseasonal at times.

We went to Open Mic at the Kiwi and that was a BLAST!  Seeing familiar faces and meeting new people.  Listening to our great local talent including guitar, kazoo, tambourine and bongos.  I will definitely be back!!

Barrie's Asparagus Farm
Saturday we loaded up Lucy for an adventure and we hit the Galt market ... got some goodies including amazing Fresh Spring Rolls and then headed to my fav spot ... Barrie's Asparagus Farm!
We are SO lucky to have such great asparagus (and other amazing items) so close to home.  I even bought some soap that had rhubarb and asparagus in it!

Headed to a little spot by the River and ate our lunch peacefully (under a blanket ... brrrr)... and then headed home.

After doing some bbq'ing dinner was eaten in the bus too at Riverside Park and we watched the Bus Movie on the laptop ... fun :)  Even Clive came along for the ride!!  He loved it!  Will have to bring him more.

Lots of tweets and Facebook posts of Lucy sightings along the way and meeting people who loved Lucy.  She makes everyone smile!!!!

One of my favourite farms...

So on my way to my church I pass a little farm which I absolutely adore.  They have a bit of everything.  A donkey, a llama (Jessie calls him Karl) ... some sheep and goats ... it's just the kind of farm I would have if I had one.  It's right by GreenWay Blooming Centre on Shantz Station Road.

We got a call to do a drive by because the sheep had their babies :)

I grabbed my camera and off we went to check it out.  Karl the llama is very protective of his family but I managed to get a few pics of the new babies who were running around and playing like little kids.  I love seeing how adorable they are!

After reading more on GreenWay's website I've learned that the llama is in fact named Maurice and the donkey is Pepsi ... who knew!  Now we can properly address them when we drive by!

Where's Lucy :)

Well Lucy and I have been getting out when we can ... getting our eggs from Keystone Farms and catching great local live music like Shy Harry and Eric Bolton.

Been plotting our adventure for buying locally ... lots to choose from!!  I've decided my adventure is more than just about the farmers ... it's about all that is offered to me locally.  Supporting small business and restaurants as well!

Have been doing some local buying in Guelph too.  Got some awesome bus mugs from Blue Iris Studios ... who is a fellow bus enthusiast who remembers her bus when she was a kid :)  She has an annual studio sale in April that is worth checking out ... but get there early - there was a line up when I arrived!
